2009: A year of new Lamin-Art products

It's been a quite a year for new products here at Lamin-Art. First, we expanded our Pearlescence Solid Color collection to 50 colors, including 32 new ones. But we didn't stop there. We also added 2 new finishes and made our Chrysalis and Catalyst finishes available for each and every color in our Pearlescence line.

One would think that should keep us busy all year, right? Not Lamin-Art. In October, we also improved our unique collection of Veneer-Art high-performance wood veneers. These 18 beauties combine the natural appeal and richness of real, hand-selected wood with the superior durability of
high-pressure laminate. Featuring classic species such as Walnut, Oak, and Cherry and exotic additions like Zebrawood and Bubinga, Veneer-Art is a perfect choice for warm, inviting interiors in hospitality, healthcare, and corporate office environments among others.

That's a total of over 300 new products introduced in 2009 alone. To learn more about these exciting new products, contact your local Architectural Representative or request samples online today. And look for even more great things to come from Lamin-Art in 2010.

Green Team Reports Success

In mid-2008, Lamin-Art formalized its commitment to sustainable business practices with the launch of our eco-enable project. One of the first steps that we as a company took to improve our carbon footprint was the creation of an internal Green Team. The group is charged with brainstorming and implementing ideas that promote sustainability in our everyday business practices. The following is a small sampling of the initiatives the Lamin-Art Green Team has tackled over the last 18 months:

• The implementation of an office-wide recycling program that has resulted in a 30% reduction in waste generation.
• Increased use of electronic documents and desktop faxing leading to a reduction in paper consumption to the tune of about 60,000 sheets last year (that's about 7 trees saved!).
• By reducing our hours of operation by one hour, we are saving more than 800 kWh per month in electricity.
• We've banned paper products from our corporate office kitchens, and all employee share responsibility for washing their own mugs, glasses, and dishes.
• We've encouraged our local Architectural Representatives to donate used and/or discontinued sample chips to local art and design schools in their area rather than toss them in the trash.

These are all small changes we've made to our everyday business practices that, in total, can have a large impact on our environment. But we've only skimmed the surface of what we can achieve, and the Lamin-Art Green Team has plans to tackle even larger sustainability issues in the new year.

From all of us at Lamin-Art and The Source-Happy Holidays and our best wishes for 2010!
